GED Program
After enrolling and going through our orientation, qualifying students are given the Test for Adult Basic Educaton (TABE). This online assessment in reading and math give the student a broad picture of what they already know and where they may need to work in order to pass the GED. Specific and individual learning plans are developed for each student to shorten the time they need to pass the GED. College Readiness/College Prep
Individuals who are curious or are planning to go on to University or College can receive instruction to reach their goals. Qualifying students can get help with the ACT, SAT, KYOTE Exam, TABE TESTS, Praxis and more. We will toutor qualifying enrolled college students who need to pass remediation classes in the areas of math, reading, or writing. ELA Classes
English Language Acquisition (ELA) classes are designed to help non-native speakers improve their English skills to be able to further their education, help their children with schoolwork and activities, and obtain training and employment. Basic Skills Improvement
We offer classes for High School and GED graduates who need to improve their skills in the areas of math, reading, and writing. Qualifying students will be able to practice, learn, and re-learn skills that are necessary to becoming full partners in the educational development of their children, or becoming literate and obtaining the knowledge and skills necessary for employment and economic self-sufficiency. Basic skills improvement will assist qualifying students to help with thier children's homework, and allow them to move toward attaining a postsecondeary education or work training certification. Online GED Classes
Knowing students have work and family responsibilities outside of GED class, we are striving to make it easier for those who cannot attend on a regular schedule. Qualified students who are enrolled in our programs are eligible for various online options. Online students are required to come to the center for skills assessments and followup. Work Ready Initiatives
Our Livingston County Adult Education Work Force Readiness programs reflect an increased emphasis on helping qualified students build academic and essential workforce skills for college and careers. We offer the opportunity to earn a National Career Readiness Certification (NCRC) to qualified students. The NCRC provides information to employers about your level of employment readiness.  We teach employability soft skills. These skills what most employers are looking for in potential employees. As some trades and colleges require the Test for Adult Basic Education (TABE), you can now take this assessment in our office.  Our center is available for online job searches, and resume writing. Paraeducator Testing
The Livingston County Adult Education Center has partnered with the Livingston County Board of Eduacation to provide the Paraeducator Test and study guide for those interested in emplyment with the school district. The test and study material are all free of charge.
