ABOUT OUR ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAMS
College and Career Readiness
It is no longer enough for Kentuckians to earn just a high school or GED diploma.  This new reality is why the Livingston County Adult Education Center has developed programs to improve connections to employment and training opportunities that lead to economic prosperity for its students. Our purpose is to help you get a better job, enter college, sign up for trade school, or join a union hall . You will be better prepared to gain and retain a living-wage job.

STUDENT ADMISSIONS
Admissions is as easy as filling out an enrollment form. We service qualified students residing in Kentucky, especially Livingston County.
Admissions Process
Your Gateway to Learning
Individuals seaking enrollment into our programs must complete the enrollment process and orientate in our main office in Smithland. If desired, enrollment forms can be filled out and printed from our website to expidite the process. All new students will attend orientation, complete all enrollment forms, take the Test for Adult Educaton (TABE) in three subjects. Part of the orientation process will also be career counseling and goal setting.
Costs and Subsidies
How We Help
Livingston County Adult Education is taxpayer supported with State and Federal grants. All of our services are free to qualifying students inclucing classes, study material, online courses, and GED Ready tests. Your only expense will be for the final GED test. There are four sectons--Reading, Science, Social Studies, and Math--which cost $30.00 each. Depending upon availablity, some scholarships are available.
Requirements
The Information You Need
Qualifying students are:
Residents of Kentucky, 18 years or older,
Not required to attend public school,
Homeschooled students meeting age requirements,
If you have a high school/college diploma or the coveted GED, your TABE scores cannot exceed a 10.9 grade level to be eligible our services.
Kentucky has an Adult Educaion Program in every county. If you live in a different county, we recommend trying your home county's adult education center before enrolling with us.
